Jacob Bush

Volleyball Coach & Mentor

Jacob Bush is a former standout middle blocker who played collegiate volleyball at Dominican University (2020–2024) in River Forest, IL. As a junior in 2022, Jacob helped lead the Stars to a historic season, including a #1 national ranking—the first in program history—and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight. That year, he recorded 133 kills while hitting an impressive .369, along with 91 total blocks. He was named NACC Defensive Player of the Week on February 22, 2022.

As a senior in 2023, Jacob served as team captain, guiding Dominican to a runner-up finish in the NACC and a strong showing in the conference tournament. Over his collegiate career, he totaled 225 kills and 147 blocks across 163 sets. Jacob is a two-time NACC Champion and helped the program reach the NCAA Final Four in 2021 and Elite Eight in 2022.

In the summer of 2023, Jacob was selected to represent NCAA Division III Men’s Volleyball on an international tour in Brazil. Alongside other elite D3 athletes, he competed against top teams while experiencing the game on a global stage. The team went undefeated on the tour.

In August 2023, Jacob was named Assistant Coach for Carthage College Men’s Volleyball. His impact was immediate—helping Carthage become one of the top blocking teams in the country. In 2024, Carthage won the CCIW regular season title. During his second season, they repeated as CCIW champions and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2025.

Jacob holds a bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness with a minor in Nutrition from Dominican University and a master’s degree in Sports Leadership from Carthage College.
